Educators Apple Award Winner: Makenna Slavenski

Congratulations to one of four February Educators Apple Award winners: Riverview kindergarten teacher Makenna Slavenski! 

A parent nomination mentions Ms. Slavenski's patience, the fun environment she creates, and credits her with creating a new reader: "My child is reading! He hasn't shown an interest until being in her class, and I attribute that solely to her. He is a shy kid, and I've seen him bloom."

Ms. Slavenski received her award yesterday--a $50 gift card for dinner provided by 1847 Bar & Grill, a $100 VISA gift card donated by Adam Kirkpatrick Family Dentistry, a framed certificate, and an engraved apple trophy for her desk. 

Many thanks to the Gillott Home Team, a community supporter in Lebanon for 30 years, for their sponsorship and involvement. February’s four winners were chosen from the initial nominations and will all be announced in the coming weeks.
